watersword: a tabby cat peering over a book at the reader (Cat: Gherkin)
[personal profile] watersword

I wish I could sleep comfortably on my back, specifically because it would give the gherkin an extra eight hours to cuddle me, but we both must settle for her curling up against my spine (I'm a side sleeper).

C8T0 is mad that I'm sleeping on the couch for my back because she can't lie down in front of me (I sleep on my side too!). She keeps climbing onto my side and lying on my hip, but eventually she leaves and sleeps in her UFO.

Saffron simply crowds me halfway off the pillow -- I use a wedge pillow and it's a good thing there's a second one on the bed -- and flops heavily down with her head under my chin and purrs loudly while I rub her belly. It's very cute, but a little intrusive.

It is completely adorable. Just a lot of cat Right There. Also eventually she puts her hind paws into my hand and pushes it away -- no more belly rubs now, please -- and we both go to sleep. If I wake up, she has probably curled into a tight circle. If I turn over, she walks along the tops of the pillows and settles down and does the entire head-under-chin thing again.

Why do you call her the gherkin?
